It's a nice idea, but that's about it...
As Hurricane Irma continues to tear through Florida, Shaun White has stepped up and chartered a helicopter to hover over Tampa. Yep, you read that right. For the last 6 hours, Shaun White has been hanging off the side of a helicopter throwing out autographed snowboard to everybody affected by the storm.
This seems like a pretty cool way to help out, but unfortunately, snowboards are close to the bottom of the list when it comes to what hurricane victims need.
“It’s a nice gesture,” said a spokesperson for FEMA, “We appreciate the time Shaun has spent in the helicopter autographing each snowboard, but really there is no practical use for them. It’s actually detrimental because of how much space these things take up. Shaun, if you’re reading this, please move the helicopter and stop handing out all of these snowboards.”
Wow. Talk about a nice gesture backfiring.
Unfortunately for the victims, Mr White’s helicopter is extremely loud, and he is unable to hear any requests for him to leave the area.
Nice try Shaun, but you’re really not helping.
