Special counsel Robert Mueller's legal team is full of pros who will work endlessly to achieve a goal that will ultimately be shut down by a system that no one understands.
Let’s get to the introductions:
Michael Dreeben- An expert on criminal law who has yelled about more than 100 topics in front of the Supreme Court.
Andrew Weissmann- A seasoned prosecutor who is known for his long career of going after organized crime syndicates, almost reaching the finish line, and then losing all of his documents and having to start over.
James Quarles- A former assistant special prosecutor for the Watergate investigation; which famously led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon, but ultimately made no impact in changing the course of action that the United States would subsequently follow.
Jeannie Rhee- A former senior adviser to former Attorney General Eric Holder and a white-collar crime specialist; known for almost serving justice to Goldman Sachs, only to be taken down at the last minute by forces much larger than any one human could possibly comprehend.
Greg Andres- A white-collar criminal defense lawyer who, much like Weissmann, seems to consistently lose all of his paperwork and have to start back from square one.
With these five heavy-hitting all-stars, it seems inevitable that Mueller’s team will make some promising statements, get our hopes up, and drop the ball at the last second by no fault of their own. If any team can bring an investigation as far as possibly without actually accomplishing anything whatsoever, this is the team to do it. Let’s get to work baby.
