We can all rest a little easier tonight. Reports have surfaced that the rabid billy goat that has been running loose in Stephen Colbert's studio for 10 months has been captured. This ends a near full year of terror and dismay that plagued the staff of The Late Show and caused many to question the fate of the show's future.
"I'm just glad it's finally done" said staff writer Cullen Crawford, "That goat has been running around the studio for months eating all the lettuce. Stephen hasn't been able to have his lettuce for almost a year and he's been absolutely miserable."
The goat was discovered in the studio last December just before the show began gearing up for the Christmas season. "It really put a damper on the whole holiday" said writer Ariel Dumas, "My parents were in town to visit for the holiday and the goat kidnapped my father and held him in the lighting rafters for weeks. It was an absolute nightmare."
The goat was finally apprehended when members of the show's props department laced a granny smith apple with goat tranquilizer and planted it in the hall way. Once the goat, which the staff named Devil Thomas, had passed out he was wrapped in a large fishing net and brought to the studio of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon where he has served as stand in bassist for The Roots for the last three nights.
